PRAYOONVIS CO.,LTD.

Founded in 1964 with the aim of producing construction work. Over a period of more than 60 years, PRAYOONWIIT CO.,LTD. was first established under the name Kajornwit Ltd., engaged in the business of wholesale construction materials to general contractors. After that, a new company was registered, called Prayoonwitt Karnchang CO., LTD., and the name was changed again in 2007, using the name PRAYOONWITT CO.,LTD., operating a business related to construction contracting for both Public and private sectors such as roads, airports, bridges, electric trains, including the production and installation of prefabricated concrete parts, Segment Box Girder.

In 1964 Mr. Pote Sarasin, former Minister of the then Ministry of National Development, and former Director-General of the Highways Department Mr. Uthai Vuthikul set up a policy for the Ministry’s Highways Department to increase the volume of highway construction by bidding contracts, and try to reduce the volume of road construction work done by the Department itself. The policy was implemented as a five – year plan, and after that there were bids for many highway and road construction contracts and various new projects that followed. To sum up, the Highways Department has sat a new policy of increasing over the long term the number of bidding contracts for its highway and road construction projects.

At that time, Mr. Vis Liptapanlop had already been a contractor for the delivery of construction materials such as rocks and laterite to the Highways Department for the past seven or eight years. He became familiar with the Department’s work and had a good relationship with the engineers. As a result, Mr. Vis gained much experience automatically, mainly from his work and contact with the Department without having to spend money or extra time to learn from other relevant educational institutions. Moreover, he also received some profit from supplying the construction materials to the Department.

Mr. Vis considered the various factors mentioned above: The Ministry’s new policy, his own unconventional learning and experience, plus the probability that when the Department started increasing  bidding contracts for highway and road construction projects and reducing its own construction work, he would get less work, or perhaps none at all in the future. So he decide to establish his own company to acquire road construction contracts from Department. He consulted with the late Lt-Gen Prayoon Noonpukdee, explaining his objectives to establish the new company and invited him to be Chairman of the Board of Directors, to which the Lt-Gen Prayoon agreed. It was consented to use the General’s name, Prayoon, and Mr. Vis name as part of the company’s name; thus “Prayoonvis Engineering Co., Ltd.” was formed.

Thus on June 3,1964, a new contractor company joined the highway and road construction field and in  2007 changed name to “Prayoonwitt Co., Ltd.”. Prayoonwitt Co., Ltd. Is a 100 percent Thai owner company with an initial registered capital of one million baht. This figure was increased to five million baht three months late; in 1980 it was again increased to 50 million baht, and the figure has been further increased very year. The Company’s business has made gradual progress during the years, as can be seen from the steady growth of its registered capital.

As for the Company’s achievements over the past years, it has won about 100 construction contracts from various government departments, such as for the construction of highways, bridges, airport development, irrigation systems, ship berths and reinforced concrete dams. The total value of these past construction contracts amounted to some 8,000 million baht. Particularly in 2020: the company has been approved and pending contracts are valued at about 3,000 million baht, the highest since the company’s establishment. It is expected that the Company will get more contracts at this same level in the years ahead.
